Paintings by expressionist artist Ewan McDougall run wild. Since adolescent years in Ōamaru, where he was raised; tinkering with watercolours during rainy days, McDougall has held tightly an intense passion for painting.
Almost a decade spent travelling overseas, working various seasonal jobs, McDougall halted his creative practice. However, the vibrancy and myriad of exciting experiences the artist was exposed to, inspired McDougall’s signature psychedelic palette, and mind-altering imagery. Upon returning to New Zealand, the artist began painting again.
